Property Maintenance
Harrison Township's property maintenance code allows us to maintain property values and the appearance of our community by establishing minimum standards for the upkeep of businesses, houses, yards, and vacant lots. The most common concerns are junk cars, commercial vehicles, deteriorating roofs/eaves/porches, trash and debris, and overgrown grass or weeds.
The emphasis in enforcing the code is to work with the property owner to gain compliance. Two code enforcement officers share the responsibilities in this area.
Reporting A Code Complaint
The Code Enforcement Officers respond to concerns from residents regarding property maintenance issues and zoning violations. Complainants must fill out an online form or paper form and submit it to our office. Your concern can also be reported by phone. Call (937) 890-5611 ext 105.
Code Enforcement WILL NOT investigate property maintenance complaints filed without an address of the property of concern. If you want to be able to check on the status of your complaint you must provide a valid email address or phone number in your submission.
Other private property uses and maintenance issues. The Development Department is responsible for enforcing the Property Maintenance Code. Once a complaint is received, it will be processed, and a code enforcement officer will investigate. The complainant should expect follow-up contact from a Code Enforcement Officer in a timely manner, but it may take some time to investigate and reach a resolution of the matter.
