Harrison Township wants to help you clean up your community. So, the month of September has been designated Community Cleanup Month in the township.
Last year, Harrison Township Trustees declared the months of May and September as Community Cleanup months.
Starting September 16 through the 25, the township will strategically place about a dozen dumpsters around the township for residents to dispose of junk for free. Tires can be dropped free of charge at Harrison Township Fire Station 94 located at 2400 Turner Road and on Rector Avenue. Also, Montgomery County is having its annual Tire-Buy Back event for Montgomery County residents. This event will take place at the transfer and recycling facility in Moraine on September 17. Residents can bring up to ten tires to be disposed of at $2 for each tire.
Last spring, the township disposed of 13 dumpsters full of waste and garbage and 40 cubic yards of tires.
