Carson Caldwell was recognized by the Harrison Township Trustees for his quick actions and bravery at the monthly Board of Trustees meeting on September 5, 2023.
On August 8, 2023, the 20-year-old responded to his grandfather, Mr. Legault having a medical emergency. That is when Carson’s CPR training, which he learned at Northmont High School, kicked in. Carson immediately began CPR on his grandfather after he noticed him experiencing pain and clutching his chest. Carson continued CPR until Harrison Township first responders Liv Balasare and Stephanie Brewer arrived. Carson’s grandfather was transported to a local hospital and had heart surgery because of a major blockage. Doctors and his grandfather credit Carson with saving his life.
