Along with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODIN), County Corp’S YouthBuild Dayton will plant over 150 trees on vacant lots in Ft. McKinley.  The planting event is scheduled for March 20th, 2018 (snow date April 18th) under the guidance of Wendi VanBuren, ODNR Urban Forester.  Tree planting will begin at the corner of Salem and Pittsburg around 10 a.m. and everyone is invited to come out and help. The project is a collaboration between Ft. McKinley Church, The New Path, Inc., County Corp, Harrison Township, The Montgomery County Land Reutilization Corporation (The Land Bank) and Huntington Bank.  This educational experience connects YouthBuild Dayton members to the benefits of trees including learning about urban forestry, the mechanics of trees and tree planting, and long-term care.
