President: Joyce & Don Barnes
Vice President: Kay Fowler & Jane Spitter
Meeting Date: We meet on the last Thursday of every month @ 7:00 pm.
Meeting Location: Turner Road Church of Christ, just east of Philadelphia Drive
We have been meeting for over three years and below are some of the things we've been able to accomplish in that time period:
- Assisted the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office and Sheriff's Office in the closing of two problem liquor establishments which were bringing a criminal element into our neighborhood.
- Petitioned the United States Postal Service and United States Representative Mike Turner about the exterior maintenance of the Forest Park Post Office.
- Assisted the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office and Sheriff's Office in shutting down two nuisance apartments on Nottingham Road. Our group was very consistent in notifying the MCSO when criminal elements, such as drug dealers and prostitution was visible at these two locations.
- Partnered with Harrison Township and other Neighborhood Associations in working with the Ohio Department of Transportation in doing the sidewalk replacement program along the N. Main Street business corridor.
- Hosted the new owners of Northtown Shopping Center at a meeting in order to exchange ideas and hopes for the redevelopment of Northtown Shopping Center.
- Held a weekend pot luck meeting at Shiloh Park in the Spring of 2010 for all of our regular residents who attend our meetings. This was a great opportunity for all of us to enjoy some fellowship in a beautiful township park setting.
- We organized a neighborhood clean up in the Summer of 2010. We cleaned up loose trash and debris all over our neighborhood, along the N. Main Street business corridor as well as the creek which runs through the middle of our neighborhood. The Harrison Township Trustees subsequently recognized us at a township Board of Trustees meeting for our efforts as a Neighborhood Association.
- Organized and held our first block party in the summer of 2010 and followed that with a second one in 2011. Many of our local businesses supported our block party through various donations. The block parties were a huge success and we look forward to doing another one next year.
- In early 2012, our group applied to the Montgomery County Combined Waste District for a Beautification Grant in order to do some landscaping improvements at the heart of our neighborhood.
