Harrison Township is governed by a three-member Board of Trustees, elected at-large for four year terms. The Trustees serve as the legislative body of the Township. In addition, a Clerk is elected to a four year term to serve as Fiscal Officer and maintain the Township’s records, including the proceedings of all board meetings and financial accounts. An appointed Administrator manages the Township’s day-to-day operations. Harrison Township employs 56 full-time workers.
The Board of Trustees meets at 7 p.m. on the first Monday and 12 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month. All meetings are held at the Government Center, 5945 North Dixie Drive.

Ron Casey, President
Mr. Casey has been a life long resident of Harrison Township for 60 years. He resigned from the Harrison Township Fire Department after serving 38 years, the last 14 as Fire Chief. He also retired from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office as the Chief Deputy after 31 years of service. Mr. Casey was appointed on June 4, 2007 to fill the unexpired term of retiring Trustee George Curry. Mr. Casey ran unopposed in the November 2007 election and was sworn into a four year term on January 3, 2008. Mr. Casey is presently employed by the Vandalia Municipal Court as a Bailiff. For over ten years, Mr. Casey has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Montgomery County Credit Union.
Darrell Lairson, Vice President
Residing in Harrison Township for 64 years, Mr. Lairson is familiar with public service. He served as a Northridge School Board member for 12 years and has been a community volunteer for all of his adult life. He is a 1964 Northridge graduate and was sworn in as Trustee on January 28, 2009 to fill the unexpired term of Roland Winburn. Mr. Lairson was elected in the November 2009 election and his current term expires December 31, 2013. Mr. Lairson is currently employed by the Northridge School District.
David Woods, Trustee
Mr. Woods has resided in the township since 1978. He is a retired Deputy Sheriff, having served in Harrison Township for a number of years as dete ctive. Mr. Woods was first elected to the office of trustees in November 2001, and his current term expires December 31, 2013. He currently represents the Township on the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission and the Montgomery County Township Association Action Committee.
Deborah Merrick, Fiscal Officer
Ms. Merrick has been a resident of Harrison Township for over 40 years. First appointed to office in February 2007, she has since been elected to two 4 year terms; the latest beginning April 1, 2012. Ms. Merrick has been an employee of Handyman Ace Hardware's corporate office in Fairborn for 32 years, where she has held financial and management responsibilities.
